Something for you?
Working among the art and then enjoying a summer drink? Museum Beelden aan Zee is the only sculpture museum in the Netherlands with changing exhibitions by both national and international artists. We focus on modern and contemporary sculpture. Artworks are displayed both inside and outside. The building is a work of art in itself. We often hear from visitors, staff, and volunteers that they find it special to be here. The fact that we are located right next to the boulevard and even have a view of the sea completes the picture.
Who are we looking for?
Are you proactive, presentable, and have a service-oriented attitude? Do you have a passion for art and want to learn more about it? Then you fit perfectly into our (close-knit) team!
A: Volunteers needed for regular services
As a new volunteer, you will first receive an introduction to working in the museum, the museum collection, and sculpture. You will also get to know other new volunteers. Then you can schedule yourself when it suits you. You welcome visitors to the museum and perform varied services. You are at the entrance, in our museum shop, in the museum café, or as an attendant in one of our beautiful halls. These are the regular activities.
B: Volunteers needed for education - museum educators
Our education team is also looking for reinforcement. Do you want to help children and young people look at art better and encourage them to create their own artwork? Do you have an enthusiastic, open, and active attitude and an affinity with education? Then we are looking for you! Together with a freelance teacher, you give museum lessons mainly to primary and secondary schools. You give short interactive tours and support students in the creative process in the workshop space of Studio aan Zee. You also contribute ideas for holiday workshops and family activities.
As a museum educator, you also participate in the regular services.
C: Volunteers needed for our garden and terraces (WAITING LIST)
The museum is located in the dunes and is built under and around the summer pavilion of Sociëteit de Witte. The dunes that form the roof of the museum can be seen as the garden. Where the dunes come into view of visitors, we have chosen a mowing and sowing policy to promote flowers for bees. Furthermore, there are the terraces & patios that need to remain weed-free. And of course, our four cork oaks need attention.
You work in a small dedicated team and are jointly responsible for maintenance work in and around the garden. You and the team ensure that the garden looks perfect and all visitors can enjoy it. You have a green thumb and a passion for gardening. You are available
What do you get in return?
- You are always up to date, see many changing exhibitions, and have free access to the museum as a volunteer
- You get a behind-the-scenes look at a museum and are closely involved.
- You meet other enthusiastic colleagues with the same passion for art.
- You are invited to openings, lectures, and drinks.
- You regularly receive a catalog about the current exhibition.
- You get a discount in the museum shop and in the museum café.
- A volunteer position within an enthusiastic team in a beautiful and unique working environment
