Narges Mohammadi (1993)

Narges Mohammadi (1993) studied Modern and Contemporary Art History at the University of Utrecht and completed her education (2017-2020) at the Royal Academy of Art The Hague. According to her, her artistic practice emerges from a position of in-betweenness - a space embedded in separate cultural histories. The installations and sculptures, often in simple, accessible materials, are characterized by a play with scents, colors, symbols, and the customs of various cultural heritages. In her work, Mohammadi frequently uses personal experiences and histories as a starting point and links them to various current societal and social issues.
