Hans (Jean) Arp (1886–1966)
Hans (Jean) Arp (1886–1966, Strasbourg) was one of the pioneers of modern art. He was a co-founder of Dada in Zurich and later played a key role in the development of surrealism and abstract art. Arp worked in various disciplines such as poetry, sculpture, painting, and collage. He developed a recognizable visual language of organic forms that are both playful and poetic. His work remains influential in contemporary sculpture to this day.
