Since this week, the statue Doorboord (Pierced) by Erik van Spronsen has been standing in front of the museum entrance. A geometric abstract figure made of cortensteel. This sculpture is characteristic of Van Spronsens work, where his love for the beauty of abstract forms is clearly visible. The famous Haarlem sculptor died on March 13 of this year. The family donated six of his works to Museum Beelden aan Zee. Including the work 4 Kubusjes, which is currently on view in the exhibition EIGEN+BEELD. We are very grateful for the donation and for the fact that we can permanently exhibit this artist.
